The history of capoeira finds its origin in Brasilia. In the 16th century many Portuguese's have come to Brasilia, when this country was discovered by them. The Portuguese's had founded lots of cotton and tobacco plantations in Brasilia. Already fast appeared that Indians people was not arranged in Brasilia to perform this hard work on the plantations. Thousands of slaves were obtained from Africa and were shipped to Brasilia to work. They proved to be willing people, subserviently and active. The Portuguese's tried every oppress form of African culture. The communication under the slaves appeared laborious because they spoke several languages from several parts of Africa. By their body language they still could understand much of every other and is this also the beginning of capoeira.
Fighting techniques
The slaves trained in their fight techniques with every other, purely based on eye contact. This was for them the only way in communication. If they could they could develop this fight techniques, then this was the way to freedom.
